FAQs

  • Sign up for our Wheel Time class! It’s a great way to get your hands dirty without committing to our class packages.

    In this class, you will get to create your own unique pottery piece on the wheel.

  • We recommend that adult beginners purchase an 8-class package to ensure you have a chance to learn how to throw, trim, and glaze your pieces.

    Before you purchase your first package, you must sign up for our waitlist and we will reach out to inform you of class availability. Once a class package is purchased, you can sign up for classes. We recommend signing up for consecutive weeks.

  • There is a high demand for classes, so we recommend planning your classes a month or two in advance. In the meantime, you can join our waitlist.

  • Absolutely not! At Teralta Art, we cater our teaching to each student in order to support and foster you as an artist. If throwing isn’t your jam, we also can teach hand building, and any other techniques you might be interested in!

  • To be courteous to other students interested in taking the class, we encourage you to either reschedule your class for a later time or cancel it 48 hours prior to the class.

    We do not allow cancellations less than 24 hours prior to your class time.

  • Generally, it can take about 3-4 weeks for your piece to be ready. You will receive a text and email from us that your piece is ready to pick up. Check your spam folder!

    Your piece will need to dry before it can go through an initial firing (known as a bisque firing). Then it will be glazed and will go through a final firing.

  • When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other students. In order to be respectful of your fellows, please cancel or reschedule as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.

    If cancellation is necessary, we require that you change the appointment at least 48 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another students access to that appointment time.

    If you cancel less than 24 hours before the appointed time or no-show, the student will be charged the full amount for that class.

  • The easiest way to manage your appointments is through the Acuity Scheduling App, or to log in to Acuity through our website.

    You can also use your Confirmation Email. At the end of the email, there is a button says, “Change/Cancel Appointment”.

    If necessary, you can call or text our studio at (619) 335-5273 with a detailed message. We will answer your message as soon as possible.

  • Package: We recommend rescheduling. If you need to cancel, the class will go back to your package. You can redeem it with your certificate code again.

    Wheel Time (Single class): We recommend rescheduling your appointment. Go to your confirmation email for instructions. If you must cancel your appointment, you will have to contact the studio to reschedule.

  • There are no refunds for no-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours.

    Refunds must be requested and completed within 60 days of the original transaction. Any request more than 60 days after the purchase, there will be no refund. Processing fee is not refundable.

    Rescheduling is highly recommended.
